Strong leadership skills are required
Must have good training skills
Must have a well developed knowledge of all rig positions that lead to Tour push.
Job functions:
Supervise and monitor the day to day activities of the drilling crew which includes making sure they are motivated, working safely, and completing task in a timely manner.
Maintain all company paperwork in a neat, timely and orderly fashion.
Ensure that all company equipment is being operated for intended purposes and report any equipment abuse to Rig Manager.
Train of all the crew members
Maintain good safety practices and housekeeping.
Inspect drilling rig and ensure that it meets compliance with all regulatory body standards.
Operate drilling rig with safe well control practices in mind.
Update the rig manager on any unusual occurrence or changes in the hole condition that could effect productivity or compromise the crews safety.
Participate in any test to the equipment that is required through out the drilling process.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite.
Participate and help oversee rig out and rig up activities.
Oversee the efficiency of the drilling crew.
Organize and prepare next step of operation.
Correct unacceptable performance or conduct of crew members using Saxons disciplinary procedures.
Ensure that all employees wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conducting and supervising regular safety meetings.
Complete blowout prevention (BOP) drills, equipment checks (crown saver, motor kills, etc.) as prescribed by company policy.
Chairing safety drills on a regular basis and revisiting the drills as crews change out.
Correct unacceptable performance or conduct of crew members using Saxons disciplinary procedures.
Be involved in, the identifying of safe and suitable duties for injured workers.
To be involved in, the development, progress and return to work of injured workers, whilst complying with all aspects of privacy and confidentiality.
Injured workers will be managed in a fair and equitable manner having regard to their cultural and linguistic ability and level of literacy.
Keep a daily log on the daily well history that includes drilling rate, any problems encountered and downtime etc.
